Ron covered the ordering options and procedure for the four area historic
designation plaques: Carlton Place, Stonebreaker, Buena Vista ad Riverview (Childer
Heights). Final pricing will depend on quantity and shipping costs. Estimated
price is under $100. Ron will have additional info on his President's Blog which
is linked from the website home page. The plaque provider's website is http://erielandmark.com.
General Meeting (no Treasurer's report).
Ron reviewed the Vision 2025 status and reported we are to get 8 foot tall brick
markers with a stone cap at 18th and Cincinnati, the grounds of the McBirney and
the Spotlight Theater, 21st and Boulder and 13th and Boulder. He also suggested
that we should reconsider our plans for the Carson Arch in view of both cost and
safety. We can then apply that money to more area markers. Additional plaques
can be added to the standard stone marker.
Barbara Maxwell reported on the Stickball Park project. The dedication has not
be finalized but Nov 18 is a strong possibility. The question is .... who is in
charge? The Creek Indians or the Centennial Commission?
Monty McElroy, City of Tulsa, address the general meeting about the PlanItulsa
project and encouraged all to participate in general sessions or specialty such
as transportation.
Meeting adjourned at 7:30pm.
