Sheppard House
1904 S Cheyenne Avenue
Constructed in 1916 by original owners John and Lydia
Sheppard in a Colonial Revival theme. Sheppard was the president of Sheppard Oil
Company and was associated with the discovery of the Boynton Pool in Muskogee

During the 1921 race riot the Sheppard family sent their
man servant that occupied the basement out in their touring car to bring black
families back to safety. They remained in the basement until the riot concluded.
Crestview Manor
1830 South Cheyenne Ave
Crestview Manor was a gift from Robert McFarlin to his
daughter Pauline. This Italian Renaissance house was built in 1919 and was
architected by Barnett-Haynes-Barnett of St Louis. They also designed the
McFarlin house and the McFarlin
Building at 5th and Main in Downtown Tulsa.

This three story stucco and brick home features winged
porches with heavy square columns and a tile deck, The clay roof is supported by
ornate eaves with ornate brackets. The facade of the building opens to all sides
with exterior French doors. The formal facade repeats the balance with two
wrought iron balconies flanking a large front window that once served as a door.
The upstairs sun room opens to a view of the Arkansas River.
