Activities Information

Pre-Party Bicycle Tour

Our very own Gary Percefull will lead a pre-party kickoff bicycle tour that follows the trolley route for a loop around historic Riverview. Departs from the party venue at 1:00 sharp, so be there with your bike ready to go.

Trolley and Shuttle – Historic Riverview Tour

The trolley will make three loops around historic Riverview during the event, making several stops to let people on/off. Full narrated historic tour, wildly popular last year. The tour route passes through Buena Vista Park, Stonebreaker Heights, the Riverview Historic District, and Carlton Place. You’ll see many of Riverview’s oldest houses, and former/new/future historic points of interest throughout our great neighborhood. Not to be missed! Schedule and route are printed on the flyer.

Live Music

Kulica! A groove-rock band recently relocated to Tulsa from Blue Lake, CA. Will be performing on stage during the party free of charge! Our musical entertainment this year is graciously sponsored by Bomasada Group, developer of the upcoming Cosmopolitan Apartments at Denver & Riverside (rendering on their website).

Free Food: “A Taste of Riverside”

This year we’ll captured the true taste of Riverside by featuring some special treats from the Greek Festival people, fruits on sticks from our neighbors on Cheyenne, treats from Baxter’s Interurban Grill and Ron’s Hamburgers and Chili, and lots and lots of freshly grilled hot dogs (possibly from QuikTrip, possibly not). In addition, many of our neighborhood restaurants have donated exciting items to our raffle and auction.

Bake-Off Competition and Baked Goods Auction

This is a highlight of our event. If you can bake, or even just imagine that you might be able to bake, make something fantastic and enter it in our Bake-Off. Celebrity judging and harsh critique by Michael Grogan and Harold Kuntz from KOTV NewsOn6, followed by the real test… we auction everything off! No need to pre-register for this event! Bring your baked goods before 2:00p to enter. Any questions? BlockParty2015@riverviewtulsa.com

Raffle and Live Auction

Tons of great donated stuff from neighbors and neighborhood businesses will be on display and raffled at the end of the party. Buy your raffle tickets for $1 each, look each item over carefully, and drop your tickets in the fishbowl for a chance. Winners announced following the Live Auction, where some of the bigger and more exciting stuff gets sold to the highest bidder. Have something you’d like to donate for auction or raffle? Get in touch please! BlockParty2015@riverviewtulsa.com

Kids Corner

Lots of great activities for kids including the famous puppet theater from last year, a costume dress-up booth, musical instruments, water balloons, sidewalk chalk, and other surprises.

Nature Station

Educational information and activities related to Riverview, our river, Crow Creek, and conservation initiatives happening around us. Educational, interesting, and important.
